If Thanos had announced his plan to use the stones to snap away everyone like this, Infinity War would have been all about how the Avengers help Thanos track down the stones and then fight Wanda who refuses to allow Vision to sacrifice himself for the cause. Endgame would have been a giant party followed by yet another confrontation with Wanda in WandaVision mode, until Thanos realizes she’s doing the same shit only with magic instead of AI and snaps her away too.
