Just heard there was a student of Joseph Campbell’s on women-specific Hero’'s journey. Campbell unhelpfully told her that the role of the woman was to be the prize and that she should shut up and blow him.
Part of the heroine’s journey is abandoning her femininity for patriarchal masculinity and the end is her reincorporating masculine values of strength and independence while maintaining a feminine identity… mimicing the Terminator definitely sounds like early stages of this journey.
There is also a scene where she mirrors a Terminator.
Media literacy is lost to a lot of people it seems.
