Looks intriguing but looks like an american company - that immediately makes it a non-starter

Not much I can do about that unfortunately. If I were a wealthy man, I could move to another country. I am not a wealthy man. :(

I understand, and please dont take it personally.
I hope the US survives the policies of the current administration and the abuses of power that are sad hallmarks of the US tech industry.

Like i said, the approach is intriguing.

Quick question. If I released this as a self hostable but not open source project, would you run it?

I want people (like, individuals) who want to host it themselves to be able to, I just don’t want some big company to be able to spin up their own version of it to put me out of business.

I’ve been toying with the idea of a Business Source License release that converts to AGPL after the normal term. I know businesses view AGPL as untouchable, so that would help keep them away, even after the BSL conversion.

Probably wouldnt be a road for me, but im probably not a good indicator of other people.

My homelab is dark to the public internet, no exposed ports, no public IP, etc. My domain is an mx only zone.

Self hosting email would require too many fundamental changes to the security posture.
