In an airport you’ve got as much rights as the money you might be carrying. Possibly none. That’s why I don’t fly anymore.

Here are people that embody the conscience of humanity by attempting to bring food and medicine to those suffering privation and genocide. They themselves are illegally kidnapped at sea, detained and abused by criminals. They return home to be beaten by their own police. And here we have real rules-sticklers in the comments saying that they deserved it. Incredible.

This is why I tend to just give the middle finger to the average person, and ignore their advice.

Who am I supposed to listen to? There’s very few people I like enough (A NATO guy training Ukranians for example, but he likes me much less for obvious reasons).

Police works different outside the US. In civilized countries, the police actually serves the people so citizens of said countries don’t fear the police because, most times, they do protect people and even arrest politicians/rich people.

It’s not boot licking because in normal countries, people trust their police force even if sometimes they too do wrong things (and get punished by it).

        Oh sweet summer child…

Even in “civilized countries” police is the only occupation that will try to fuck you over if you say anything negative about them.

Imagine a firefighter refusing to put out a fire and hose you because someone said afab lmao

Following this hypothetical I wouldn’t say fuck the fire department while they’re extinguishing a fire, I would be saying fuck the fire department for them hosing people instead of extinguishing fires.

I’m also from the EU and I very much fear some of my country’s police forces. And I’m not even a person of color.

    https://www.rtve.es/noticias/20260523/cargas-ertzaintza-llegada-miembros-global-sumud-flotilla-aeropuerto-bilbao/17082962.shtml

Apparently, the flotilla members (together with the people who were waiting for them) were blocking the arrival gates, which caused the Ertzaintza (regional basque police force) to charge against them to unblock the gates.

It is unclear if the actions of the police were right and internal affairs has opened an investigation to shed light to the events.

Even if the police actions were unlawful (all to be seen), you have to be a special kind of dumb to cause this kind of disorders in a fucking airport in the Basque Country, a place that until not so long ago, was terrorized by ETA, the terrorist group.

Well, it’s also just like, what is the right time and place to stage a protest? A Spanish airport is not the seat of power driving genocide in Gaza.

The idea is to cause a problem for someone who is either responsible for the issue, or has the ability to stop it.

Disrupting the lives of ordinary people just doesn’t help your cause at all.

If you block a gate in an American airport, you can expect the same from airport police. Not sure what doing so even accomplishes to these activists… Cameras show up, activists activate. Junkie behavior, springing for the first poor opportunity to perform activism after being released from captivity. Pretty lame display

I see 1 baton hit in the entire video. There was a second cop with a baton out, presumably for another hit. Let’s say 2 then.

Batons are pretty common in crowd control scenarios. Usually cops don’t hold back and just start swinging left and right.

2 baton hits are not nearly on the same level as executing them.

Yes. Seeing more posts, it is absolutely disproportional. And there are some videos where they absolutely maul them for basically nothing.

I commented on the post I commented on though, which has very little police violence (compared to the other ones).
