It’s the fucking worst. It’s like you don’t even recognize these people anymore. Like their entire personalities have been supplanted by toxic lies and propaganda.

They don’t define themselves by supporting the opposite of what’s in the Constitution, they just don’t give a shit about what’s in it.

That’s just called campaigning. Not the same thing as Musk’s massive propaganda machine and million dollar offers.

I use Bazzite, and I’ve had to install Mullvad manually using a local rpm package downloaded from their site. Works fine like that.

Only annoyance is that I have to repeat the process manually when the app updates, but there is always a banner saying a new version is available, and it takes like 2 min to remove the old version, install the new local package, and then reboot. Use rpm-ostree command to install/uninstall.

Edit: I guess it might be different on SteamOS given that it’s Arch based instead of Fedora… Not sure if it works in a distrobox.

FOSS is inherently anti-capitalist, and the bigger it gets, the more threatened capitalists will become. At some point, they will decide they they’re losing too much profits to them, and they will use regulatory capture to attempt to shut FOSS down entirely.

This is how I think things would go down if it got popular enough. Unfortunately.

I think there is a way to present the information that makes it unambiguous that he isn’t being honored.

Instead of saying that he “was the fuhrer of Germany”, it could say, “after taking power, Hitler took on the title of ‘fuhrer’.”

It’s a title he invented though, after taking control. Continuing to use it is honoring his memory in a way.

Hitler was literally the chancellor of Germany. That was his official title before he seized power and took total control and changed the title himself.

I wish I could remember what I did to get it working…
