It’s not really distinct to a single ethnicity on the islands, it’s spoken by around half of the population of Hawaii. So it’s more of a distinction that you are a local rather than being a native Hawaiian.

That’s not plastic grass; its a common kind of grass in Hawaii, that’s very densely packed, and it feels really nice to walk on while barefoot. Also nice to sleep on when you’ve been decked.
