Furthermore, the engineer made one disturbing discovery — deep in the logs of his non-functioning smart vacuum, he found a command with a timestamp that matched exactly the time the gadget stopped working. This was clearly a kill command, and after he reversed it and rebooted the appliance, it roared back to life.

The implementation is client-side, so this wouldn’t work. It forces all apps to have a client-side backdoor.

I like base 8 or 16, anything that’s a power of 2

Can confirm; my app was removed from the Play Store due to a donation link to my PayPal. Absolutely insane.

That would be impossible to search online

Nothing’s releases this year were underwhelming unfortunately

Pixels just get astroturfed into oblivion, for 10 years they’ve offered the best Android experience by far.
The only mediocre aspect is battery life/charging. Other than that, Pixel is always the way to go.
It’s still on the European models fortunately

What does this do that C# doesn’t?

OP3T > OP7P > P7 > P10P
After the Android 12 update on the OnePlus 7 Pro, the OS became about 400% more “Chinese Android skin”, which was also the time where they merged OxygenOS and HydrogenOS. The things you will miss from OnePlus are battery life and charging speed; everything else is significantly better on Pixels.

OnePlus is the “like” in my comment, they’re the only alternative I know of that allows you to still plug your phone to a PC and unlock it.

Google is like the only phone OEM with unlockable bootloader…

The AI creating music is not an LLM

Tried to figure out yesterday why a user couldn’t ssh into a server, tried LLMs to figure it out, completely useless. Had to go into some log file somewhere to find out the one who set up the server made a specific group for ssh and if a user wasn’t in that group they couldn’t connect. The LLMs (ChatGPT and Gemini) gave me bullshit about changing flags in the sshd config…

So how do they break my SSL connections?

Well yeah, but fearmongering about text DRM is just annoying to see. There are many battles to fight, and epub extraction from a Kindle is very low on the priority list

What does this mean? What prevents me from OCRing the pages on a video that quickly goes through it?
If the hash is unique per person, hackers need to build a new table per person. It doesn’t matter if the hackers can get their hand on the salt; the point is that they cannot try the common passwords easily for all users; it takes N times as long where N is the number of users with a different salt (hopefully all of them)
