Like EV charging, washers and dryers run on 240V. My approximate energy use for a laundry load (washing + drying): 3 kWh. My own EV driving uses about 5 kWh per day. That’s how I got the number. Same order of magnitude is my point. At least in my case. Changing the laundry size and frequency, and driving habits, could actually make those numbers (3 and 5 kWh) close to equal.
I don’t know how much it actually costs to run my washing machine so I cannot make a definitive statement.
