It’s hard to find anything to be optimistic about. I want to be hopeful but I just can’t.
Well, actually my husband and I (Belgium) have been supporting families in the US through go fund me. One family is in Chicago, and the other one is in Tennessee, after hearing about their plight on the Internet, we decided that we had to do something, especially since their kids need to go to school and after that to college, Needless to say, we have made great friends across the ocean, and we have regular Zoom meetings to stay in touch. I’m kidding of course, we are supporting projects in Kenya, especially since US Americans decided on cutting USAID.
You had me worried in the first half fellow Belgian.
Not that USAID is OK, but that’s another example of american scumbaggery.

In capitalist America, even socialism is for profit
Ah yes, of course the only form of socialism people get behind has capitalist overtones. Not comfortable with their tax dollars going to better society because it could benefit the wrong people. So let’s allow corporations to take as big of slice as they want from people’s generosity and charity.
