It used to be that Americans turned to GoFundMe to pay off their medical bills in a dysfunctional, privatized health care system. Now they’re doing it just to afford groceries.
Well, actually my husband and I (Belgium) have been supporting families in the US through go fund me. One family is in Chicago, and the other one is in Tennessee, after hearing about their plight on the Internet, we decided that we had to do something, especially since their kids need to go to school and after that to college, Needless to say, we have made great friends across the ocean, and we have regular Zoom meetings to stay in touch.
I’m kidding of course, we are supporting projects in Kenya, especially since US Americans decided on cutting USAID.
