Came prepared to downvote this for being common sense, but judging by the comments it actually is surprisingly unpopular! Well played.
I live an increasingly confusing double life as TeaHands the game dev, and TheGiddyStitcher, multicrafter extraordinaire!
Currently working on my first ever commercial indie game, a minimalist city builder.

Pretty sure most people just use their Mastodon app. I’ve heard decent things about Fedilab as well, haven’t tried that one myself but I hear it has PeerTube support.
The PT devs have just announced they’ll be working on a proper app in 2024 so 🤞
I have a really out of the loop question that will probably make me sound like a troll, but really I’m just old and out of the loop:
What exactly are the unique features of Tumblr? as far as I recall it was just a blogging site with support for specific post formats, right? Did it get more complicated than that?
Unfortunately, like it seems all PeerTube instances, it’s not federated with much. I do understand why they’re all siloed but it makes PT kind of a non-starter for actual normal users so they all just use Mastodon instead.
Respectfully, it may be time for you to invest in a doorbell.
Definitely have a couple of friends who need to use this feature
I am definitely bumping that stat up singlehandedly by an unhealthy amount.
And from lemmy.world 👋
I know this is a couple days old but just popping in to suggest [email protected]
Lemmings when someone mentions cake day: Stop trying to make it like Reddit!
Lemmings at all other times: Why is this not more like Reddit?
It’s just not needed though, is the thing. These “links” aren’t links that are posted for people to follow, they’re just an artifact of having posted from Mastodon. As we get more interaction between the two platforms, your bot as currently written will reply to every single post and comment made from Mastodon, ever. It serves literally no purpose in this situation other than to clog up threads.
I’m not trying to start a fight or anything. If you absolutely won’t be convinced that it’s pointless replying to Mastodon tags, maybe you can at least consider limiting it to replying only on the main post? Otherwise, again, every single comment in the thread that is made from Mastodon is going to get the same bot response.
Well to post to Lemmy from Mastodon, the Mastodon user has to tag the community. That tag displays as a link on the Lemmy side. The Mastodon user has no control over the format of said link, as it’s a Mastodon user tag. So your bot shouldn’t be trying to correct it at all in this case.
Fyi your bot is apparently trying to “correct” people posting from Mastodon too. Seems like it’s replying to every comment that comes through from Mastodon’s side. Example: https://lemmy.world/post/1628806
Saw your thread yesterday and I could feel your panic! Sadly I had no ideas but glad to hear it all worked out.
Welcome!
Not to be harsh, but you’ve asked this question a few times in different ways over the last few weeks. My suggestion and advice is, download Godot and find a tutorial and give it a try. You can’t find out whether you’ll enjoy something by reading about it, only by doing it.
I do not. In fact I’ve been too embarrassed to reply to this comment for 2 days because the truth is I’ve not had as much time for gaming as I used to, am getting old, and I’m basically entirely out of the loop.
But then I remembered this isn’t Reddit and I probably won’t get attacked for admitting it, so here we are! This is part of why I’m really looking forward to our trip in a few weeks. No internet connection, just some stuff I download in advance, it’ll be really nice to catch up on some things I’ve missed!
Also I’ve just stumbled across [email protected] (Lemmy / Kbin) which looks decently active and is going to do real damage to my wallet, worth a look if you’ve not seen it yet 🙂
feddit.uk is all primarily UK stuff, I think there are Australia and NZ instances too.
Personally as a British person I hope to avoid as much UK news on here as possible so it’s nice of them to keep it mostly to one instance (big exception for UK content is UKCasual on .world, it’s nice having that hosted away from all the politics etc on .uk)
I believe there’s a more recent instance positioning itself as gaming themed but the name is escaping me, might be searchable on lemmyverse. Update: it was lemmy.zip
My other account is mostly concerned with crafts, so a craft focused instance would’ve been nice. But it’s sort of already too late as small communities for various niche hobbies are becoming established and trying to disrupt that just for the sake of tidiness seems silly.
Once we have some kind of community grouping feature I think this will be even more of a non-issue than it already is.
Honestly I meant to get that all the way back when it came out and somehow never did, but you’re right this is the perfect time. Thanks you’re a terrible great influence!
Lol I didn’t even see that, fair enough 😄
