I find it hard to believe any given post would have enough information to link it back to a specific person when viewed in isolation. Even “I’m Mary and going to visit my friend Sarah in New York City.” isn’t going to tell you who that belongs to if the profile and history itself is gone. It would have to be ridiculously detailed and all contained within a single post to actually reliably point to a specific person.
Containing personal information in general and even having an AI spit it out (which good luck, that’s not really how LLM work unless there’s something SUPER niche that essentially only you have spoken about) isn’t enough to say it isn’t anonymized. You also have to show it could specifically be linked to you by other people, in other words, that it can be de-anonymized.
GDPR permits anonymizing data instead of deleting it, provided anonymization is irreversible. They’re keeping it one way or another. They don’t need to know who the data belongs to to feed it to an AI.
I think there really needs to be a “long term” of some kind. I definitely have files and templates I only use once a year.
He was born in 89 which is very close to my age. Most people my age that are kind of techy but don’t do it as a job or main hobby probably tried Linux around 2010 or so, at which time it was rubbish for gaming, and wrote it off as impractical. It absolutely makes sense for someone that hasn’t tried it since then to say “now” when referring to its ability to play most games well, because it’s relative to when they last tried it.

I’m not going to say piracy is right or wrong.
What I will say is if everyone had access to that replicator, and everyone replicated everything in the store and left, the store would close down, and the products would stop being made.
Likewise, piracy is only viable because not everyone does it. If literally every person pirated the games or movies of any given company, that company would no longer be profitable and would close down.
Piracy is getting something for free because other people pay for it.
So how are a ton of people going to red note? Shouldn’t that have been banned a long time ago if they ban every company?
Disagree, if every user of these 10 apps did this it would end up a lot better for them all than every user choosing their favourite and giving them $50. If they choose randomly it would end up roughly the same, but in general people are going to end up skewing towards certain apps over others when forced to choose a favourite.
And if doing it randomly ends up the same as splitting it on a large scale, I think this is the more sensible approach personally.
Just curious what’s your setup?
I’ve made custom flashcards for anki to study stuff and I tested this for some similar things and it was a lot faster and easier. Anki feels like it takes forever so the investment to make a custom set is only worth it for things you need to study for a long time.
If all you want is to generate a bunch of flashcards fast and you have a pdf with the info presented clearly it’s an easy method.
Yeah in Australia I just use my home phone landline number converted to a mobile number, first 2 numbers are state code so like 02 1234 5678, mobile numbers are the same but 04 at the start. No idea if it is someone else’s number but I haven’t clashed yet.
