I still have fun memories of typing “going” in T9. Idk why but it 46464 was fun to hit.
I know, I’ve been trying to work on it. Moving furniture and throwing away things is pretty hard for me.
My mom got me my first one in 2019 or 2020 because she thought it was cute (Guyfolye from Silicon Valley). A few months later she asked me if they were just Beanie Babies and I thought that was the end of it. Now every Christmas I get one even though she knows I don’t like them and we both snark on the super niche weird ones. She even got custom ones for me and my wife last year. It never ends, and I have 6 sets of beady little eyes staring at me when I’m watching TV in the basement.
We all know this wouldn’t happen.
Bohdi is pretty nice. Needed a Linux test device at a job a few years ago and for some reason this was one of the only ones approved. Was pretty solid for the few times I needed to use it.
My wife’s story isn’t too exciting. Her tio and tia were able to get visas in the early 80s and were both Doctors. After they received citizenship and established themselves in the United States, they started helping the rest of the family come over. My wife’s immediate family applied for visas in 95 and was approved in 99. They had a big support system of family already here and gained citizenship a few years later. Her story is one of the better/easier ones and she is very aware of that.
Without getting into too much personal stuff, she has heard multiple stories of one or two children (as young as 7) getting separated from the rest of their family for a month/months at detention centers. Some of them deal with the trauma better than others . It seems like the younger kids normalized it in their head, but it’s always weird for her when they ask about her immigration story, and how much easier it was for her.
Even Klasky Csupo demons look better than this.
Most people don’t. I really didn’t get the whole scope/big picture until my wife (who immigrated as a child and now works with immigrant families) explained the whole process and gave examples of things she’s seen at work and with people in the community. Last night we got dinner with my mom and she asked “OK where are we moving to?” to only get a lengthy conversation of how it’s works and how hard it is. It’s not as easy as buying a plane ticket, selling all your stuff or shipping things to where you are going and then picking up life as normal. I hope most people here realize that, but I felt like it needed to be said.
Ahhh yes, it is so easy to pick up and move to another country. Why didn’t anyone think of this earlier?
I brought it up with my family, my tech friends and coworkers and half the them just blankly stared at like I didn’t know what was happening. Both are important, one more than the other though.
They should just market to the blackmail fetish community at this point.
“I’ll add this to our knowledge base and other people can assist now!”
“Hey So-and-so, it looks like you our are guru at this issue, can you take a look at these 4 users who mentioned the software in their ticket?”
I just need to make progress on my projects, stop giving me desktop tickets pls :)
It’s been awhile since I’ve been on twitch, but I remember the ad would be blocked, but the player would just display “The broadcaster is currently running an ad” or something like that. Didn’t see any ads though so it technically worked
After 5% can I ring my “Year of the Linux desktop” bell?
We probably put 250 hours in on PC and I think I’m close to 200 on switch. I think my wife just broke 600 on her switch saves so we have some attachments to those farms, but looking into exporting them if we get a deck. Tbh she misses mods at this point after 100% both routes and working on some self imposed restriction farms.
I’ve looked into it and I believe my switch is still one of the easy to jailbreak models. My wife has a lite (and the save files) but I never really looked into how to jailbreak those. The stardew save editors look pretty simple from some research and I will probably attempt to extract our farms if we get decks.
Edit: Modded switches can’t go on Nintendo Online correct? If not, buddy of mine has ones so maybe use that and restore from cloud saves and extract, unless that leads to account flagging/deletion.
Gungeon is one I need to get back to. I really never clicked for me after hours of gameplay, but it has everything I’m looking for in a game. Kinda the same with Nuclear Throne, but I put a lot more time into that one.
Streets of Rogue was the other top down roguelike shooter I fell in love with. So many weird ways to progress in that game.
I need to know if there are hot single moms in my area!
