Enjoy everyone, we’re living through fediverse history. This is our dancing baby (or maybe more like the “love you” worm).
Has anybody actually followed the links? I’m mildly curious where it goes.

Amazing. Like OP, I’ve lost count.
Is someone doing that? If it’s FOSS it’s from the internet.
Ah yes, the delightful moment when you hear about this one for the first time. Truly beautiful to witness.
How can you guys tell? It seems like exactly the kind of thing you’d stage for your gross-out memes insta.
Yeah, actually looks like it was critically panned, too. I do love a good dystopian speculative fiction, but maybe not the top of the watch list.
Do you have some examples?
(That is what I meant by giving them a symbol, maybe I worded it poorly)
Losing formatting other than what you’ve set in your deparser would be the point. Losing comments would be bad, but that seems easily fixable just by giving each comment block a symbol that points to it’s contents.
Sounds cool, will add to the watch list.
(Apologies if this is disrespectful to the intent of the word.)
I’m hella atheist, for the record, so no worries. Any actual Jewish practice was a few mothers ago, but mentioning it added both humour and another hint for people who know the concept but not the word.
NGNX, the other tetragrammaton.
Although I’m Jewish, so I should probably write it N-NX.
Wow, so this is possible.
Formatting is so damn arbitrary. Somebody has to have tried storing just the parse tree on disk, right?
What, they hadn’t heard of XKCD? Losers! /s
I mean, yes. In reality it might well be that there’s not many good black CEO candidates because they’re still stuck in poverty somewhere. Really, DEI would have to start in early childhood education if you want to keep it fair at every stage.
There’s no way I’m diving immediately into nuance with a guy like we’re talking about, though. Lol!
Either OOP has somehow missed all the statistics about non-white people being underrepresented in anything desirable (media bubble?), or they think white people are naturally more qualified on average, somehow.
I will relish the day someone like this gives me the opportunity to point that out to them.
So I guess the interview is handled by a non-vulnerable intermediate process, which adds the hire to the the main table of employees when at some point in a successful interview, and then calls a notification process that just searches it?
There is reasons it ended, and some of them good. Sorry, got caught up in nostalgia a bit there.
You can still write open source stuff without needing anything besides technical knowledge, if you are in a situation where you have extra time and energy after feeding yourself.
Ah yes, the honest days of development, when you just got your hands dirty and didn’t have to worry about expensive formal education and stupid interview tactics.
So does that imply they already knew the candidate they were hiring, and were just checking if this is the guy?
TBF the analogy is especially strained for that one. Per another commenter, Boeing actually makes rockets with waterfall, but test-driven only really makes sense for software, where making local changes is easy but managing complexity is hard.
Edit: Actually, there’s even software where it doesn’t work well. A lot of scientific-type computing is hard to check until it’s run all the way through.
