IIRC, Catodon development is currently halted (https://catodon.social/notes/9rl77swzw25jjq7x).
Sharkey I don’t know
There really is a whole *keys forks lore ha ha

To me, FireFish got replaced by IceShrimp. Good looking interface, nice features (Antenna) and regular releases.
Good luck ! Beannachd leat !
If you look at any profile page, it’s the classic Mastodon layout: https://veganism.social/@mascottus
The probably just customized the home page
If you really want something a bit less austere than Mastodon you can have a look at https://iceshrimp.social/
Both could work, in a different way.
Nextcloud is more like a shared agenda, where you need to explicity invite people to events.
Mobilizon is more like Facebook events, where anyone with the link can say they will attend.
You might even have both, a Nextcloud for the members of the org and a Mobilizon as the public events
I mod enough communities to be honest, and people tend to have comments around how the content is interesting. Not the most polarizing community.
We can try like this for a bit, and if needed, I’ll step in, but I would rather not
Feel free to have a look: https://old.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/1cd8ng5/the_price_increase_of_disney_over_the_past_4_years/
The few top comments are quite neutral, then it gets into the “CANCEL. YOUR. SUBSCRIPTION.” territory.
So I guess now Lemmy is on par with Reddit? Anyway
I see where you come from, but that’s why it’s infuriating: it’s the greed of the corporations, rather than not so tech-savy users wanting to use a service that provides them entertainment.
Anyway
Yes, I just noticed the comments can be quite negative. Probably my last post here for a while
If they could encourage it at the countries level that would be nice too.
Some German and NL public services have Mastodon accounts IIRC, that’s a first step.
It’s kind of interesting, it’s not even mine, just something I took from elsewhere.
Was it necessary to be this agressive?
Anyway, have a good one.
Edit: Never thought I’d get so much anger and hate from people in a Disney+ post. I don’t have children and I don’t have Disney.
Sorry you went through this. Feel free to report any agressive comment, hopefully the mods will act upon them.
(the last one went down when the person running it disappeared).
Yes, that’s still sad to this day
I see.
I follow more or less the same logic, but still try to keep communities on other generalist instances (lemm.ee, sh.itjust.works), as the centralization of Lemmy on LW is detrimental from a performance perspective: https://lemmy.world/post/13967373
Hello,
Good luck with your community.
Out of curiosity, why did you choose lemmy.world to host it? I know you are pretty active on communities on feddit.uk and other instances, so I was a bit surprised.
Great news!
Me too ha ha
Good luck!
Thank you! Just took out my blahaj alt to have a look ha ha
