Donald Trump’s war with Iran is likely to drag on for another six months, Leon Panetta, the former US defense secretary, has warned, as the US president struggles to find his way out of the controversial conflict.
Panetta declared in an interview that the war with Iran – launched by Trump over six months ago – risks becoming another “forever war in the Middle East”, with no clear end in sight.
“It’s no mystery that the United States and Iran are caught in a terrible stalemate, in which there really are very few options available to bring this war to an end,” said Panetta, who also served as CIA director under Barack Obama, suggesting the conflict is on course to become “another failed war” in the Middle East “like Iraq and Afghanistan”.
“no forever wars”
personally i think it will go on and off for at least another 2 years
I question whether the reich sustain another six months of this.
Why not? The “war” consists of intermittent bombings then pulling back and sitting on their hands while handing out limited economic sanctions to the extent China won’t flip out on them. Not much to endure for the US besides high oil prices and frankly the US has been there, done that before for the zionist entity during the OPEC embargo in the 70s when cars got like a 1/3rd the gas mileage they do now.
Iran is refraining from striking the zionist entity so interceptors running out isn’t a problem as it’s just GCC vassals who get hit. US can just ignore Iran aside from a few feel-good strikes on radar and mine deployments across the strait while encouraging GCC countries to build pipelines. That way those countries never end up paying Iranian tolls, never falling under Iranian influence.
Trump doesn’t want his meeting with Xi this month cancelled so after that, by October or November after the elections he could slap on much harsher economic sanctions against China to try to pry it away from Iran. May be just the thing to crash the economy which I increasingly think they want because it will wipe out retirement funds for workers, drive up prices, etc which makes workers more desperate and exploitable while funneling that money to the top.
Because of the impact on the US economy. Iran controls the rate the oil is flowing out of the Gulf, and there’s already a severe impact on the global economy. The effects have been amortized by the release of strategic reserves, but those are starting to run dry as well. On top of that, it’s the US and their vassals in Europe and Asia who are the most affected by the crisis.
What Iranians are doing is dismantling the vassals around them which pushes back American bases, hurts American energy supplies, and creates chaos for their vassals in the Gulf. Israel isn’t really the primary concern here. Once US position in the region collapses, they gonna be fucked as well.
On top of that, even American media is complaining about the logistics problems the US navy has because Iran killed the fifth fleet base in Bahrain and now they have to pull supplies from thousands of kilometres away. Even the whole blockade the US is attempting to run is becoming sustainable already.
There’s a reason the US is now trying to move to economic warfare even though Iran keeps clapping them in Jordan. The US isn’t even trying to respond to the last trike. And isolating Iran is obviously impossible because neither Russia or China will agree to that.
We already know the US cannot sanction China because we saw how the tariff war went. The US was forced to walk that back immediately, and nothing has changed since then. If you think China will cave on this, I have a bridge to sell you.
So the US is fucked both militarily and economically now. They have no way out.
Part of the power of American propaganda is convincing people that the reich is invulnerable and nobody can stand up to them.
Trump doesn’t care about sinking the US but he does seem to slightly care about the upcoming elections.
Iran seems to be taking potshots at US ships since the US would love nothing more than stalling.
It’s pretty clear that Iran isn’t going to run the war on American timelines. And as the US attempts to strangle them economically, I expect Iran will continue escalating military action against the US and its vassals in the region.
I see the Freidman unit is still in use.
Just one more Friedman Unit bro, please…
I think, it will drag on to the next adminiatration. I Democrats would probably win, and probably will, show how hypocritical they was. I, don’t think, they, would accept the MoU, like that
2 years later…
The Iran war might need to go on for another 6 months.
Plz everyone, keep posting those memes by Explosive Media. They’re on Blue Sky and Telegram. This is how we win the war for Iran 👍
Iran isn’t really in a stalemate, they’re in a holding position while they pick pick pick away at US bases, assets, and allies in the area.
Liberals don’t yet understand that war has changed. There isn’t going to be a forever war because the US is going to be defeated.
Yup because more and more the resources needed to restock and rearm will be farther and farther away and units sent into the strait will be logistically isolated. This is modern day supply line disruption via drones. Eventually I do feel once enough bases and staging areas are destroyed or compromised Iran might push a bit harder on the blockade but currently their content to repeatedly bleed the US.
because the US is going to be defeated.
Going to be? It has already lost.
The US is like a chicken running with its head cut off at this point.
It depends on whether Iran starts drowning the big boats the orange pedophile placed nearby for terrorizing Iranians.
