“The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is now only counting costs to businesses when considering regulation on key pollutants, internal documents show, rather than considering human lives saved by such caps.”
As a restaurant owner, having indoor toilets takes away space from tables, and costs me money. People should just shit in the streets instead. Indoor toilet regulations are just woke radical left hatred of America. Cholera is covered by health insurance anyways, and woke fake-pandemic commies complaining about it should just inject some bleech if they don’t want to die like they deserve.
There better be none of them transgenders shitting in the same street my daughter shits in!
EPA exists only to save human lives/illness. Protecting the commons as well as private victims. It should exist for that function.
Headline is saying EPA should no longer exist, if all rules that protect people will be removed.
Life is cheap. Profit is the God we pray to, no matter what anyone else tells you. This goes beyond left or right and democrat or republican. It’s a corporation/billionaire thing. And they’re currently winning.
This goes beyond American left, which is to say no left at all.
The actual left is 100% anti-corporation and anti-billionaire.
Conservatives did this. May they suffer the worst effects of it for the remainder of their valueless lives.
Spoiler: they won’t.
Don’t Lives Lost also impose costs and lost revenue on businesses? Even from a business standpoint, killing a bunch of people is bad for business.
Those costs can be passed onto governments. Much like salary subsidies in the form of food stamps.
The corporate world is doing a PE style takeover of government, and non-workers are simply an externality.
True, but that’s less than including the value of lives directly.
Capitalism simply assumes unlimited resources. Labor is a resource.
Good job everyone.
Holy shit. I’ve seen Saturday morning cartoon villains who were more subtle than this.
You’re right. I have been trying to rationalize the simplicity of Captain Planet villains to make the show relevant enough to make a new live action series. Our capitalistic overlords may have opened up the story line.
The quiet part loud… Holy fuck.
its just evil
“Basic Economics”
When will they realize that money is useless when you’re dead?
One of the noted traits required to build incredible amounts of wealth is that they would rather die on top watching the world burn, than save the world from burning and lose wealth/status/rank.
Silly PlainDave, Bob Kraft and Ed Sheeran can’t die.
Why look at all their life experience so far.
So it’s the Corporate Cash Protection Agency now?
Seriously. Human lives or not, how is not considering pollution protecting the environment? Humans are not the only living things in the environment.
billionaires have their bunkers, they dont’ care about what fresh hell they create on the surface.
Yeah but before that they have their private islands and valleys that they keep pristine so they and only they can go do stuff in it. They turn into environmentalists overnight when talking about the land they play in. Mostly shooting animals, but some light atving also.
The true tragedy of the commons.
Trump wants Americans to die so Russian scum can move in.
Would that actually work? I don’t know much about how well funded the Russian government is, but from the small amount of knowledge I have, it doesn’t seem as if they have much power themselves to take on another country (at least long term). They’re already using their resources for Ukraine.
This current administration is so incompetent, evil, and or delusional, that whatever plans they may have, they just won’t work out in the end long term. Unfortunately, too many people could die and many more may suffer if things get too far. Hell, even if we all suddenly mobilize today, painful sacrifices will need to be made; either direction will suck. We’ll just have to choose which “suck” we’d rather live with.
Why move overseas while their homeland becomes more vacant every week?
What 😅
So they’re going to include the costs my business has to pay for increased health and life insurance premiums?
Which, should be noted, is still a significant downgrade.
