Meanwhile, Linux works just fine. Booted up, opened steam, played Elden Ring (today I learned you can parry Midra!). Worked on a spreadsheet for some personal finance. Did some coding. At no point did I see an ad or fight with the UI.
Won’t you think of all the ad executives losing revenue by not constantly exposing you to their garbage. They may not be able to afford their sixth house or second yacht, think of their privileged children for Christ sake!
I’m still new enough on my Linux install to get excited every time I can get a free open source program/app/flatpacK ext… to do some “thing” that Windows had a jank ass “free with adds / limited use” crap program that I had to down load from a sketchy webpage hidden between click bait links to malware.
I also like to go check the blocked sites on my pihole (DCHP) light up like a Christmas tree when I boot into windows, vs mostly green safe net traffic on my Linux boot.

Start and right click also just works instantly as it should on fucking massive powerful machines doing what should be a absolute trivial thing.
