They manipulated the market using marketing for AI, selling empty promises: it is not the aimless random output machine’s fault.
It is just a tool being used as a smoke screen so no one will blame big money for what they intentionally caused to happen.The prompt machines are without agency - it isn’t responsible for the human greed that builds these data centers. It isn’t responsible for the water they use to keep it going - that’s again human intention and greed - AI doesn’t deserve being the villain because it is just zeros and ones and not a person.
ai is turning into a scapegoat that westerners chose to blame instead of laying the blame on the people who wield it to these ends and it feels very american to attack the mask rather than ever spend time considering the face behind it.
I like bow everything is the AIs fault. The loss of hobs: AI. The too expensive tokens: Ai. AI hacking systems, AI causing people to go vrazy. The datacenters, ram, gpu everything is blamed on AI.
And not the real culprit: Human greed. Nothing what’s going on is the AI’s fault. It is a box that does nothing without a human.
