Most girls will hit you if you call them a cow. Hiromu Arakawa has it right in her family name, but she owned it, drawing sketches of cows in the margin of her manga. You might have heard of it. Fullmetal Alchemist. I know in India, they think of cows as sacred. It’s not an insult there. Not sure how that works in Japan, though. They do tend to think differently over there.
The media is really misinterpreting this and rewording it to make her look rediculous. All this means is she has a bad sense of humor.

“Cool lady” who is running legal immigrants out of Japan (some who have lived there for generations) and making it very hard for foreigners to be anything other than tourists at a time when Japan’s economy depends on foreign labor and talent more than any other time in its history.
“Cool lady” who allies with Japan’s new right-wing extremist party Sanseito (jingoists, anti-vaxxers, basically Japanese MAGA) and helped them go from two or three seats in the Diet in 2025 to 15 seats earlier this year.
Is that the “cool lady” you’re referring to?
Talking to bugs is the least of her problems.
