OFO may hold U.S. citizens in custody in certain situations, such as suspicion of or a determination of violating U.S. law, pending transfer to another law enforcement agency on an extraditable warrant, or if accompanying a family member being processed for appropriate immigration proceedings. Available data indicate that OFO held U.S. citizens longer than 24 hours on 562 occasions from October 1, 2019, through April 30, 2021.

And that’s 2021 before things started getting hot.
