I’m a Republican, and in nine months of advocating for safer streets, I have yet to meet another one.
You’re a hbthe wrong crowd…
Yet somewhere along the way, we turned roads into a political argument
Yeah. You know who is “we” here? Republicans
Nah this ain’t it. All shared resources, including transportation, are inherently political.
Welllllll, bike lanes ARE DEI! They’re inclusive of people who don’t have cars.
I don’t think you could explain the ideas behind DEI to a conservative though.
you are going by bike only if you don’t have a car? Oo
“I thought something obviously stupid because nothing is real unless it affects me. But then it affected me! ¡Que sorpresa!”
lol what an absolute fuckwit. This is a truly majestic and impressive lack of self-awareness.
But when Republicans talk about freedom, the progressives hear privilege. Aren’t the Left and the Right essentially saying the same thing?
No. The fuck is wrong with you?
They only care when it impacts them personally. Fuck them, selfish pricks.
Oh, it impacted them.
Leopards Ate My Face moment
What in the stupid?
I’m sorry for the loss, the road did indeed fail, and I am happy there’s at least one Republican who cares about road safety, but …….
There’s a whole lot of twisted logic trying to make it seem like “both sides the same”. I mean, I wouldn’t argue it since she does see the light after it affected her personally, but wtf
It’s part of the high-control systems and zero sum, want others to lose, rather than want all to do better, raise all boats. In theory people support ideas in polls, but don’t translate that to votes due to their tribalism and don’t really understand the sum of all the healthy and unhealthy ways.
Q: How do controlling systems keep people tribal, zero sum, obedient, and reject platforms that actually match more of their claimed issue goals? …See what you find out…
Edit: Also, come up with scoring and totals for each party, based on what produces healthy people and more happiness, liberty and justice and reduces climate change and helps the refugee crisis.
The data shows Democrats outperform Republicans on happiness, liberty, justice, climate action, refugee support, and economic equality, scoring 83 vs. 37 in an evidence-based analysis. While both parties have enabled surveillance, the GOP/MAGA is the far bigger driver of expanded police tech, spyware, and mass surveillance. The GOP’s “liberty” claim is a corporate-authoritarian scam—their policies restrict abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, voting access, and worker freedoms, while failing on climate and economic equality. Meanwhile, Democrats end cannabis prohibition, protect civil liberties, and push climate action, despite some flaws. The truth? The GOP’s “freedom” is a myth; the Dems’ policies, while imperfect, align far closer with real liberty, justice, and human flourishing.
Do you mind if I ask where this quote is from? I’d be interested to check out those studies and their results.
womp womp
I love a story with a happy ending. The only good conservative is a dead conservative.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t demand respect while doing everything they can to avoid earning it.
Boo fucking hoo. I’m glad he’s dead
Why is it always the left that has to dumb things down for the right?
Most have ability to learn more, but the systems indoctrinate them not to learn more than they allow and be obedient, they go along to fit in, their team wins when others lose, zero sum thinking. It’s damaging and holds us all back.
Because… they’re dumb?
So that is easy. Religion is based on tradition, and the right is heavy based on religion. Tradition is all about doing a thing without really knowing why. So it skews heavily toward the non-critical thinkers.
