- One cannot rely on any large tech organization to empower the oppressed. Yet we must use them in some form. - We can only help empower the acceleration of new tech that allows people to organize and talk without filters. This must include ways to facilitate local geographic communication. - There are many failures ahead, and much frustration. But I think it can be done - some tech: mesh networks enable local area communication. Modern ones are encrypted and can route information over the horizon with multiple hops.
- falling back to the old technologies that the large tech organizations haven’t yet captured seems to be the only path forward; but it’s already a non-starter for a society that has grown dependent on captured platforms. - Technology is accelerating, and hundreds of thousands of new engineers and programmers are starting each year. - New platforms appear, are used by hundreds of thousands, employ hundreds, spawn new tech, that spawns a second generation of new things. All unknown by most. - Things seem unchanging until they are not - i don’t doubt that things will change; it just feels like it’s not going to happen until i’m worm food or too old to understand it. - I feel similar, even as I’m working on part of the future as I see it. I will easily miss most of the changes
