I wish I could say I was surprised. I remember several great, extensive wikis on various subreddits but no one ever used them, and a lot of others that for which wikis should’ve been a great feature failed to utilize them properly, if at all. .

Since you’ve mentioned you want a single computer to play media you already have, forget Plex. Sure it can be used in this manner but it’s overkill. Plex, and other software like it, are best used for streaming from server to client(s).

Building on the Ras pi suggestion, I’d say take a look at osmc on an rpi. (If you go the rpi route, I’d also suggest dropping a lil more cash to have it boot/run from something other than an SD card, ext hd and nvme SSD are both better boot drive options. SD cards have a tendency to bite the dust after a while in single board computers)

Terminus is nice and has a lot of platform options. Ive used on an old ipad in the past. If you have several machines, I highly recommend servercat. Works wonderfully on iphone, ipad, and Mac. It also has options to write and store commands to easily send out to any number of devices with a taps/clicks.

I don’t see it either (at least plainly) but I have noticed in my feed that the only comm names displayed without their instance are local. All comms from other instances show their names and their instance. I could’ve sworn there was a setting for this, but I can’t recall or find it now.

I can’t help as much with the exposing outward (I’m a basic bitch and just use ddns to expose mine since I can’t get a dedicated IP) but a separate vlan with rules to allow your primary vlan devices to see/talk to it, and block it to be able to see out of it’s own VLAN, would definitely be recommended.

I just tested on iOS to try to translate a title and this doesn’t work within Voyager. Long pressing a title to select and translate will instead take you into the post/comments and attempting a long press to select and translate a title from there just collapses the post body 😕

I’m inclined to agree. I wasn’t a fan when I tried it on my EOL one as an option.

If you need to keep the budget down, you could probably find an end of service 2 in 1 Chromebook and make it a chultrabook.

Not all ARM chips are in phones, nor are they all locked down like one. There are several ARM devices and SBCs now where switching OSes is as easy as swapping out an SD card. Most do use uboot as a standard and some are even capable of utilizing UEFI.

Why not split the difference and do both. Hdd for storage and SSD for services/containers. To help with the power load/performance hit I’d recommend using a usb to sata adapter that has external power. Overall though it sounds like a micro optipl x would be great for you. They’re cheap, more powerful, but still sip power, and usually can fit nvme and 2.5" drives together.

Is the Hba in a traditional server case with lots of airflow? My 9207-8i displayed a similar issue bc it didn’t have enough direct cooling (it’s not in a traditional server/case.) it would never show more than 2 drives at a time and they would often vanish. Once I mounted a fan to it, the Hba has been stable and showing every drive I attach

I looked these up too after seeing them mentioned in an interview. Definitely vaporware. Reviews are not good. It’s very limited in its capabilities vs an actual laptop, build quality is meh at best, and the glasses are not very accommodating to the wearer.
