  • I’m in a McDonald’s about twice a year usually because it’s the only option on a longer road trip.

Most of them have at most 1 cashier ( sometimes 0) and have the stand up tablet kiosks for ordering.

The drive through was primarily handled by a person with a head set who was also sometimes doing other things but I know a lot of fast food chains were farming that task out to call centers in cheaper locals, not sure about McD’s since I have not been through I drive through in a long long time.

  • I’m also a kagi user and I think the service they provide is good.

I would say that paying for a service cannot always save you. Any public company cannot deny 2 revenue streams and it doesn’t take long before they will take your money and sell your data.

You can pay Google for YouTube but they still harvest your data.

  • I mean the reality is the major problem is that they already have all that data. This is just making you aware of the fact.

I remember probably 12 or 15 years ago my phone popped up a notification informing I’d last been at a restaurant I was in a year prior and would I review / update the info about it…

That’s when I went and disabled location tracking (for whatever that’s worth)
