I actually got almost half of my colleagues to use Signal. Well maybe they probably still use another chat app even when talking to a fellow colleague who has Signal, but at least I got them to register an account.

I fail to see any reason for hating a chat app so passionately except possibly for privacy concerns, which is definitely not the case here.
Mine is not blocked yet. I am definitely worried about this though. I am in East Asia.
Wonder how much YouTube is going to squeeze out of this ad blocker blocking.
Try https://github.com/osfans/trime. It has multiple input schemas (i.e. pinyin, zhuyin, cangjie, etc.) to choose from, and they are great for typing Chinese. Admittedly it only supports the C in CJK, but it is absolutely worth a try if you don’t need Japanese or Korean.
Try Thumb-Key. It’s a keyboard made by Lemmy’s main developer. It uses a rather exotic layout, but once you get used to it, it is so much better than qwerty.
Don’t you all love democracy?
This sentence implies that you don’t. Why don’t you like democracy?
100% agree! I always get so frustrated when there are no screenshots in the README.md or on the site.
Yeah, I can tell this just from skimming their FAQ and Usage Guides. When they talk about the applications they offer, they always sell it as the most secure thing ever. I still personally care more about privacy than security though.
Firefox has always had been the most attractive to many people.
Yes it was the GrapheneOS team who said that. See the paragraph just above Camera. I literally just skimmed their guides and saw this yesterday while considering getting a Pixel.
Oh, the one I linked to was actually https://rime.im/ ported to Android. If you want to use it on Windows, please use this link instead. By the way, the required setup on Android is quite a hassle compared to the Windows, macOS, or Linux version.
I read your edit and I get it now. The power output of different chargers are not the same. My phone charger is 15 W, and my laptop charger 65 W (or maybe 45 W? I forgot). Charging my laptop with my phone charger does not work.
My laptop charges only over usb-c
Not just you. Also very choppy for me, both on the PWA and on the app from F-Droid.
There are several different ways of inputting Chinese, but generally they all map 2~6 keystrokes to one or multiple Chinese characters, and then the user chooses one. I’d imagine it wouldn’t be much harder.
Assuming that this does not only work on English words, this is actually really terrifying.
I also don’t like the fact that Signal needs your phone number and that the only way to connect to other people is by their phone number.
Yeah I eventually figured that out, hence the quotes. When my HP printer dies, I will replace it with a Brother printer.
Please don’t use serif fonts for UI elements. Imagine the buttons on your file manager being Times New Roman. (eww.) I think what you’re looking for is a monospaced font that’s designed to distinguish O/0, I/1/l, etc.
Plug for one of my favorite fonts: https://www.jetbrains.com/lp/mono/
