Hi!
For Lemmy usage my preferred approach is always sorting by all and blocking communities (and instances) I don’t want to see instead of subscribing to the ones I do want to see. This way you get more content and dont miss new sublemmies! :)
About a million active users each month
Edit: Damn, 10 million users, 1 million active daily, see other comment. My source was this, the one from the other comment is certainly more trustworthy https://adamconnell.me/social-media-platforms/#%3A~%3Atext=larger+social+network.-%2CStats%3A%2Cat+the+end+of+2022

2 GB RAM rasp pi 4 :))
I recently was in the same situation, so I saved everything to my cloud and just installed the Linux distro of my choice (opensuse tumbleweed), completely replacing windows, knowing I could reinstall windows later if really needed. Turned out I didn’t need it and am glad I don’t have to bother with deleting it now.
I’m extremely impressed with how far Linux has come
That’s already a thing in many countries, an opt-out program for organ donating, so by default they will take my organs if I’m braindead
Runs flawlessly on my raspberry pi (4, 2 GB RAM, bought new for 28€)
*requires a keyboard and screen
Prices for all parts soared during corona
AI heavily increased GPU prices
NewPipe :)
PipePipe :)
My two year old Pixel 7 still feels like on day 1, and before that my Galaxy S8 worked flawlessly for 4 years (I just broke the display but it still worked fine when I replaced it with the pixel)
In Austria we say “Sudern auf hohem Niveau”
Yes, compared to other countries Austria is very good. But things could still be much better.
Dw I really don’t take this stuff serious (not religious)
It’s a fun read though
But hey you can argue he’s getting 3.5 years twice now (4 minus lame duck twice)
Jokes aside, he was heavily supported by Russia and Israel who do have quite some influence through social media
More like that they probably are too young to have bought a home earlier. All people in their 20s (and I think we make a large percentage of Lemmy users) simply have to cope and buy some overpriced home regardless.
👍 in Europe earthquakes luckily are less of a concern, so we care more about longevity (you’ll find many places where pretty much every house is well over a hundred years old (the oldest one in my village is about 900 years old)) and good isolation (to keep the heat inside in winter and outside in summer so we can heat less / don’t have to use air conditioning on our way to net zero)
I guess they might be appropriate for some roads (in poor or very rural countries)
But not here
Still a breakthrough for them, so still nice to hear. Yes its Microsoft, but its still nice to see progress in research.
