I mean if you get it in a mail and then use a qr code reader you should be able to skip the decode step if the qr code contents were included directly as a link. If the code does not contain a link, then using a qr code reader won’t help I think, and there will be no way to forward it to the correct banking app.

If your monitor/docking station/adapter and the computer support the DP Alternate mode, then you should use that, it should be supported directly by the kernel. Problems may occur if the port is connected to the dedicated graphics and you use the internal graphics card. In my experience it worked perfectly so I do not know any good troubleshooting steps.

It is not required for the displayport alternate mode of usb-c.

It is an alternative with limited performance that is built on top of usb and does not require hardware support on the PC side.

That would require mining operations to be cheaper than the higher chinese export prices. I do not know if that is possible with labour costs, environmental requirements, permits and other obligations.

With their slow print speed, those cheaper tank inkjets are maybe usable for mostly paperless offices, or a home user that likes to print more often. You’d have to print at least one or two color pages per month to keep the jets clean.

As always, most consumers ignore the maintenance costs and buy the option advertised with the lowest price tag.

There are some inkjet options that do not follow that pricing model. The printers with an ink tank (epson ecotank, canon megatank, …) with ink for 3000 pages start at about $150, but are probably slower than the laser.

This bootkit is not unkillable yet. If the diagram is correct, then it installs itself on the EFI partition and not the EFI Firmware.

So, they are talking about a bootkit embedding itself into the uefi firmware, then the graphics show a malicious bootloader that resides in the EFI partition that can be removed by formatting.

Someone has to pay for that work. Either volunteers are donating their time, corporations “donate” work of their employees or hire it out because use of the project generates profits for them and they recognize not everyone can be a parasite (The FOSS model)

The other alternative is users paying directly.

If you want to use a closed source os, then pay for updates or you will be monetized on other ways. (In the case of MS that would be ads or the OS is just an incidental product used to drive sales of software or cloud computing)

They show no password prompt for the user with the “active” session for removable drives. Only system drives always require admin auth for formatting and partitioning. Maybe your session setup is not completely correct so your user session is not marked as the active session or you tried it with a drive that is considered a system drive.
