The fact that Windows devs seem to not know how to run tasks hidden and in the background always bothers me. I’m sure it’s the fault of Windows itself, but Linux doesn’t open jack until I tell it to. With all the extra helper programs needs in the tray to run all the proprietary hardware, I about lose it with all the shit popping up to yell at me.
I’m clinging to my SE. It’s the last small phone made by anyone other than Chinese no-names. I will be sad when it’s no longer viable as an option.
I tried getting this to work on my own server, but it apparently needs web sockets enabled to work, which I’m sadly too dumb to figure out. The button is there and I can see my friend in the group, but when I start something, nothing happens for them.
Why does sysadmin gotta be so haaaarrrrd???
Just use ed
if you’re feeling so fancy
Key word: consumer. You won’t find a single router on store shelves that the layman is not getting all of their data collected through.
I would love to if all of the most helpful specialized communities didn’t all use it.
I can’t even get my friends or family to use Matrix/Element, let alone the masses.
Trust me, I want to make the full switch, but if I’m hanging out on my fancy open source server with no one on it, what’s the point?
I will agree that anything akin to Facebook or Xitter isn’t helping achieve anything, since they don’t provide communication that can’t be found elsewhere (social updates, memes, event invitations, etc), but for communities like this specifically, there’s just not many other places to go.
Lately for me it’s been “ks”
Despite all these drugs, I am still just a bug in a rug.
In the article it also points out that this means you don’t have to waste paper, which is a plus, assuming they last.
I bounced around to all sorts of systems and DEs and came to this same conclusion. Debian + KDE is where it all ended up after try easily over 20 different systems throughout the years.
It’s the most “we trust you, but also respect your time” combo I’ve found.
I’ve always looked at them from a utility/engineering/sport perspective. I have no intent of ever carrying a weapon, but the training it takes to learn how to target practice, and the engineering that goes into them are incredibly fascinating.
I don’t encourage people to own guns and I don’t have any myself, but I really wish target practice didn’t have to share a platform with a killing machine.
Yeah, you can build a 1440p native/4k upscale build for like $1000 if not less. I don’t understand what the demand for these cards is. What games benefit?
I’m guessing it’s because I just don’t watch political content on YouTube at all (for this reason), but I actually don’t get any political recommendations right or left. It’s very much just project, gaming, and photography channels and the only time I see suggestions outside that, it’s because I specially strayed from my usual.
I stick to Lemmy for political stuff simply because it doesn’t affect my other algorithms on any other platforms.
Same here. One is the best made TV boxes period.
Just took a look at Friendica for the first time last night. It’s wild how something as simple as proper post formatting and wide open attachment options are enough to make me wish all my friends were on it. Way more personal feeling.
Honestly, I’ve always gone to a retail store if quality is a concern. Name brand SanDisks have literally never failed me. Just make sure you get at least U3/A2 class for speed.
This might help with understanding the labels on them: https://www.integralmemory.com/articles/memory-cards-understanding-the-labels/
Voyager on iPhone as well
To who?
This is where I am. There are a lot of fancy features that modern graphics cards have that I want to make sure work with all my AAA titles. I have a Linux laptop for near everything that isn’t a game.
I know there’s a lot of people on Lemmy that feel differently, but I am a bit of a bleeding edge graphics whore. I like my raytracing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
