This is often a problem of getting just a baby because of the lifestyle attention. Here in Germany it’s not uncommon that parents give their kid in daycare with the age of three because they can claim for a place. It’s all about outsourcing responsibilities for “metime” and career. 4 hours screentime is just another symptom.

Nobody with more than two funcioning brain cells would not even pay a single dollar to start ads on this cesspit anymore.

It’s a big problem that even if the situation describes itself people make collages of pictures that have no direct relation just to make a point.

Ironically this behavior undermines the actual goal because it shifts the debatte to “this is fake” not to “Housten, we have a problem.”.

Some weeks ago I purchased a new keyboard and did’nt realized that there is a ridiculously bright charging LED in top that shines right in your eyes.

In the end in my lazy manner I fixed it with electrical tape. It even shines trough the black tape.

Imagine you are working your entire life in science. To find were we are coming from - were we are going to - spending millions of dollars for the most sophisticated Instruments.

And then some random moron with too much money appears and moons you every few minutes.

I hope you are right. till now the fediverse has a “natural” line of defense. You have to think about how it works, Just nothing for regular everyday normal… fools.

Time will tell how the opening of Threads for the fediverse will affect us. In the beginning I was hopeful that the opening would bring some traction to the fediverse but as more I learn and read the less I can support it.

We should defend this oasis.
