It’s interesting and kinda cool that you can’t tell what distro it’s running on when using Flatpak. I would have thought that there’s some way to find out (it would be important for fixing bugs, I guess?)

Ah, yes, “Flatpak”, my favourite distro 😸
Have been on Walyand for a year now, no problems except for a weird big in Inscape so thst runs in X11 mode.

There’s also bs like this:

The browser is cool but Mozilla as a company is an absolute trainwreck of borked public communication (again and again and again) and bullshit products that noone asked for (Pocket, AI etc).
Is this a request for a guide on setting up torrenting and arrs or cracking Amazing Prime DRM? (=is the show available on the high seas or not)
Are there any GUIs for IM?
That’s the (vomit-inducing) beauty of it: capitalist pigs made something useful to you that is build on poor people’s work, makes these people jobless, burns the planet and the rich (probably fascist) white dudes even richer (you’re also paying woth your sweet, sweet data, which is another plus in their book). So its nice for you and bad in about all other aspects.
Love it in theory but when I tried it out a few weeks ago calls weren’t working with it. I could still receive calls on desktop but it would never ring on my mobile. So tread carefully.

Lol, I should learn to read +__+
+1 for Bazzite. Atomic distro + NVDIA drivers included 👌
If this happens again (which is very likely, I fear):
I’ve been downloading videos with
https://flathub.org/apps/org.nickvision.tubeconverter (yt-dlp gui)
and watching them with mpv. Still looking for a Tube-Archivist/Pinchflat stlye app that doesn’t download the whole channel (or makes me paste single URLs) but has a nice Freetube-like interface for downloading and watching offline …
You probably know about it but just in case you don’t:
I use this for English and German (not for voice input or anything fancy) and it’s perfect for me.
Yeah, it works amazingly well, too. I’ve been rebasing between Bazzite and Kinoite a number of times in the last months (because Bazzite had some problems recognizing my drawing tablet which has been fixed now) without issue.
https://bazzite.gg/ has a (confusingly named) option for older GPUs, you can select the older series when going through the downloader selection options on the website. I’ve succesfully used that on a system where the “regular” image for newer GPUs didn’t work.
Not if they just trash your harddrives after you die but I hoard for the same reason 🫥
I use Joplin with their selfhosted beta server. I’m pretty happy with it except for the search which is absurdly bad (ctrl-p searchterm to show all notebooks containing the term, selectt one, then search the notebook with ctrl-f. If this isn’t what you were looking for go to ctrl-p again. Search the next notenbook. And ctrl-p again. 🤢)
Nice, looks like it could even do subs via YTDL_OPTIONS.
Oh, that’s clever.
