I have no idea what nitro is, maybe its some teitch sub kinda thing. But I have no idea what a twitch sub is, maybe its some kinda battle pass thing? But I don’t really understand battle passes either. I miss the days when it was clear what extra features and content you could get for your money.

Anyway what I meant to say is that nitro to me always seemed like some dumb ass microtrabsaction to take money from people with no impulse control so I have ignored it and I have found no change in features. Maybe it affects hosting huge servers but those servers always have some whales paying it already. In my experience it hasn’t been an issue in hosting or using discord.

While I agree “sell your car” is kind of ridiculous when nobody is buying and everyone is saying “don’t own it OR ELSE”. With a cybertruck It’s either in hidden away as an investment since it will be the next delorean once us civil war is over, or you are a bona fide complete moron for owning it and honestly deserve the financial hole. I’ve had an issue where nvidia drivers stopped working. For half a day while the update was rolling in. Thankfully linux has super easy rollback feature that automagically activates when you force restart using the power button.

Seriously, ever since I went to “shitty, always broken tinkerers toy not a real os for real people” linux, I have not had to use the switch on my psu. Seems it’s literally only there for windows.

I wanted to try the gamer windows distro. Aurora or atlas or whatever. Its install wanted me to manually get drivers. I wasn’t feeling like doing annoying tech stuff and troubleshooting so i just got fedora instead.

In my experience as well, fedora just works more than windows. Games work and run better without crashing. No bsods. No needing to manually start drivers for my tablet and restart my DAC.

Only thing windows has is coherent one release and exclusives in terms of a few softwares. Like adobe which is a scam now.

And the second advantage will vanish with more people on linux.

I love gnome too and after messing up with KDE I learned not to go hard on customizing it. I run KDE on my school laptop that sees 50% of the workload and it’s very nice after I set up all the shortcuts and screen edges to work the same as they do on gnome (took me like 5 mins in the middle of a downtime during a lecture) I’d say don’t overthink it, just like get SD and enjoy. Id you don’t like kde you can always get another distro on it.
