I think the pushback is more from some small group of voices telling everyone what words they must use or are not allowed to use. People will always resist compelled speech even when the specifics aren’t actually important to them.

I agree. The word retarded was adopted because it was technically correct and less offensive than others words that had been used previously. It didn’t feel offensive in the 70s.

I’d love to see a graph of that growth including growth rates during the previous handful of presidencies.

I have bought merch, but not everyone has merch for sale. Also I don’t have much extra cash, and they definitely get money from views too, it’s why I advocate other people giving them views also. Also, one of the biggest income drivers for them are sponsorships, and you have to have high view counts to attract sponsors.

I have a few YouTubers I like to support with views of all of their content. Because I want them to get the support, I watch their content on YouTube with no ad blockers.

Investors would lose their investment. I don’t have any investments. Some jobs would maybe return, but the owner class would ensure they don’t pay a living wage. It wouldn’t help or hurt regular people all that much.

My brother has a statistics degree in addition to CS. He’s working for a global medical research company processing all of the data generated by their research, and also helps with their billing software, all of the medical samples have to be stored and there are millions of samples that are billed monthly. He makes a little under $200k.

My 2020 Crosstrek with a manual is pretty good. The only things on the little touchscreen is the radio, backup camera, and android or apple for navigation. Also it isn’t integrated into the whole car so it can be replaced with an aftermarket unit. It has none of the blind spot monitoring, lane assist etc. It’s a lot of fun to drive on back roads, although it could use just a little more power.

So just use something different yourself. Then ask your friends to communicate with you there. You don’t need them to quit the old, you need to ask them to use something new.

I respect that, honestly. As a US resident I’ve gone to only buying liquor that was made in my state. Buying local is always smart and we’re also not using so much energy shipping freight all over the world.
