I feel as though having biometrics installed, Face ID and/or fingerprint, kind of defeats the purpose of a privacy OS. Where as pin and a duress pin would be the choice going forward and managing the phones security.

The US public are quite happy with the way things are going at present and even if the Democratic leadership getting back in would do anything they will use the very same mechanisms that have been put in place over the many years of little changes here and there.

If the majority of US citizens where not happy with how things where and what’s happening the government would be in complete shutdown with real strikes from every state … but it is not. This is the real United States.

Same here. Got fed up after every damned update to subscribe to this, want to setup backup to cloud, setup office. Switched to Linux and now not a single subscription popup in sight. It’s been bliss. Spent the weekend with the misses sorting out 30 years of photos and getting to know exif editor 🫣

This weekend. I’ve asked my significant other to check through and backup any files she may need but we’re switching off Microslops ecosystem this coming week. Got it down to Ubuntu or Mint for an ease of use while not jumping in the hole too deep. But we are in agreement at least to turn away.

Thanks Everyone. We went with Mint Cinnamon Distro. The hardest part being how to get into the BIOS and turn on the USB boot. Everything that was installed windows wise is now installed mint wise and got the other halfs’ bookmarks up and running in a browser for her (Vivaldi if anyone’s interested). VPNs up and working and so far so good. Didn’t get spammed to death with subscriptions windows which is a major plus.
