Yep. I’ve tried several others and they’re not for me, but a lot of people are really happy with them.

I like SteamOS so much that I’m using HoloISO on mini PCs around the house to simulate consoles and stream couch games from my gaming rig upstairs. But my experience isn’t everyone’s so get your hands on it and try it out.

That’s a great way to go. There are also still some budget options (Sceptre comes to mind) that don’t have any smart features in some models. My buddy just picked one up.

It’s an absolutely terrible TV, but for his use case it’s perfect. He’s using it as a karaoke monitor for parties at his house. It’s mounted in a covered patio and is dumb as hell.

You’re right, once. But adding that one time means I never have to see the launcher again. Clicking no means extra launch time and looking at it every time I launch the game.

But different strokes for different folks. If it’s not worth it to you then that’s cool. It was worth it for me and I thought I’d drop that for anyone else who may want it.

Depending on your age there was Roxy, Maid Marion, Gadget, and probably another dozen anthropomorphic cartoon animal women who were friendly, approachable, and generally built as the kind of woman that a shy nerdy kid would like. It’s not that surprising that some portion of folks who like computers more than they like people also like anthropomorphized animals better than they like people.

My guess is that some non-insignificant (though certainly not large) new portion of buyers will replace their head units, assuming they keep the double DIN standard. It’s trivial to change out currently.

Of course if too many people do it they’ll change the slot and make the wiring harness an incomprehensible mess. One wire now controls your left rear audio channel, rolls down all your windows, and deploys caltrops if the police are behind you. If you wire things incorrectly it locks you in and sets the car on fire.

That may be why GM is not going to be putting Car Play and Android Auto next year.

I didn’t notice Atmos was gone until now. I have an ok Atmos system that works pretty great on the titles that support it. I love Atmos.
