“Can you use dd to create multiboot USB drives?”
No. But in my case that’s just a minor inconvenience considering the infrequency of having to use a live USB. And at work I just use separate USBs for wiping drives and OS installs. I much prefer the peace of mind that comes with knowing there’s no Ventoy blob that could potentially infect all its installed operating systems with malware.
In any case, it seems it is possible to manually make a multiboot USB drive manually. Haven’t tried it yet though.

I know. I simply linked that website because it’s where I learned dd from and because for novices it might be less overwhelming than the Arch Wiki.

As @[email protected] rightly pointed out, this only works for Nvidia GPUs. No idea what the method for AMD GPUs is, if there is one.
It’s good, and it’s funny. So much so that I’m jealous.
With this potential critical mass combined with the gaming community it’s all downhill for Windoze from here.PS How to force Steam games in Linux to use an Nvidia GPU, because games might unknowingly perform needlessly bad.

They should’ve picked LibreWolf which ships with uBlock Origin. Brave is a disappointing choice because it supports multi-level marketing pyramid schemes which says enough about their moral compass.

2·1 month agoThis would be convenient indeed, but I’ve learned to be indifferent about it as long as the manual or readme provides helpful and succinct information.
Manuals or notifications written with lay people in mind, not experts.
Nearly always it’s been during the live USB install of a dual-boot that a distro messes with the grub or installed grub to the USB disk itself. The fault lies with me because I’m almost blindly trusting the distro, but also with the distro for lacking proper yet succinct documentation during the install or configuration of partitions.

2·2 months agoThe former; the gunplay, maps, and strategical aspects seem excellent, and it looks beautiful. But I spend about 20 minutes in gaming spread over Quake Live and FPV. SkyDive. These are perfect to just play a quick match or two.
Hell Let Loose, simply no time.
Zen as main driver because of its features that are on par with Chromium-based Vivaldi browser, and LibreWolf on “older” machines or systems that require stability/consistency. Both are awesome to me. On Android plain Firefox remains pleasant to use, but open to suggestions.
Xfce for speed, consistency, and reliability. For most of my workflow I began avoiding configuring a DE as much as possible by relying on AutoKey, Input Remapper, and simple terminal commands, because I can import those to fresh installs way easier.
I moved away from Plasma due to too many small yet annoying bugs.

Almost without fail, every service that touches creeptocurrencies goes into a decline.
Don’t expect Proton to make virtuous ethical choices anytime soon, especially now that Trump joined the cult. Once the greed bug has bitten, making a profit supersedes delivering a good product as the primary objective.

I don’t know whether I put too much weight on this, but the lack of English proficiency in a developer rubs me the wrong way. I had already stopped using Ventoy and reinstalled the machines where I used it on, and this makes me glad I did.
