Out of my perspective, one system punishes overlords and the other doesn’t. I know what you mean regarding the prohibition on critics of the system / important people / journalism / science … but if we strictly compare the US with China in terms of billionaire punishment, China wins…

And regarding the massive steps the USA takes towards an autocracy, I would say the other aspects of the argument won’t hold up much longer.

It seems like we need to go through this shit to finally get our star trek future.

Yes … but they ARE jailed (or worse). And they all know the Party has shit on them and they still chose to rise. That’s their game… what’s the western equivalent? Be born rich, cause literal chemical natural disasters by lobby work and shitty investment decisions and what happens?.. correct… In china they be ded…

  • Possibly… but if I compare the reactions of the military towards accusations regarding mistreatment of civilians with the reactions of the police, I see a vast difference between 2010 and today (in almost every western military), while the police(s?) has developed backwards in terms of transparency and consequences for their actions.

But maybe that is massively biased due to the “social media war” vs Russia which paints western/ukrainian military almost “woke” as a harsh counter to the homophobe orcs. Idk man, the world is crazy… GEN-Z should play fortnite, not fight drone wars.

  • If someone served in the military, they already proved some abilities which overlap with police.

A psychological screening and a shortened training could work. I mean most soldiers I talked to seemed way WAY more stable than police.

“Poopy mc poop smear” would probably have a hard time in today’s military (they had scandals too but learned from them afaik… or at least try. The police is like the opposite way around)
