1·3 days agoYou’re more into the historical part of pigments? And textile I guess?
Makes me remember this.
I spent an insane effort of uploading one (1) document to the french government once. First you are allowed only one document but they needed 5 different, so I spent some time figuring out how to combine 5 pdfs into one, not a biggie but well, how convenient eh.
Then I spent 4 days trying to upload the 800kb document which I figured was under the 10MB limit. FF, chrome, mobile, PC, you name it. It just “didn’t upload”.
Then it just hit me on the fourth day, probably because I started to slowly go insane, that soneone who programmed this stuff thought that the “number of MB must be 1 to 10”, not more, not less…
I was quite desperate, but who knows right? I added two grayish pages to my document to get over that 1MB and LO AND BEHOLD, it worked…
Thank you for coming to my rant 😊

2·4 days agoFascinating.
I have a verdigris farm but it’s the unused paint I scoop up from my pallet after a paint session, and keep in a airtight bowl for future backgrounds 😁. It does make a nice neutral-ish grey often green leaning…

2·4 days agoFrom the outside it was like a blame game, especially with the debt, say the otjers make debt, get voted on and create massive debt and crash/strain the market/economy until the otjers get back in to fix it somehow(you can’t just pay back those kind of sums without oeople feeling it, so they must be onboard, which americans never seems to be).
Maybe it’s gone so far something peoductive will come out of it (like people figuring out politics are important), but I’m not holding my breath.

2·4 days agoPaint is fantastic. Did you know we use just a couple dozens of pigments? They go in oilpaint, acrylics, watercolour, everywhere!
And of course that’s just the beginning…
Might post something if I understand what the sub is really about, but at least I subbed.

2·7 days agoI love the ESP32, was onboard with the ESP-8266 (might have the numbers wrong, it was the predecessor), but I thought the real difference between the ESP-32 and the Rpi was that the Rpi has an OS with a possible desktop even (and all that Libux has to offer basically), as the ESP is more of a uProcessor you program in C/C++?
Edit: Plesse disregard, I mixed up the posts and posted one levet too high too…

3·8 days agoThey have become expensive too IMO, a 3-4 TB drive costs more today than a couple of years ago, and the used market here in europe is insane.
