I was in a similar boat. Initially, I ran debian with docker but later on decided to check out unraid. It’s pretty easy to get setup, and you have a lot of docker containers pre-configured, so you can just click and install. I have it notify me whenever something goes on with it, but outside of that, I don’t tinker much with it.
Only two weird things about it though…
You dont install unraid. Instead, you run it through a usb. More specifically, the usb has a specific config that’ll then load everything to your memory.
Recently, they redid their pay structure so not too familiar with the changes but you do have to pay for unraid.
Check out Tranga as a direct replacement to Kaizoku.
Awesome, appreciate it.
I believe Tachiyomi was meant to download the manga and view it on Android?
Correct
I forgot what Komga was, is it a downloader?
Similar to something like plex, jellyfin, kavita, etc. Its basically a manga media server. Not a Downloader
For downloading, I ended up trying out “kaizoku,” which is unfortunately no longer maintained. Acts as a frontend for a service called “mangal,” which seems to no longer be maintained as well… Does the job for some websites at least.
Try things out. Get an old pc with some old hard drives no one will want and get to it!
Just install whatever on it and start asking yourself what you want to do with it.
I started on Ubuntu Server and ended up on Unraid. Caused alot of problems along the way but in the end I learned alot to where I dont stress too much when stuff goes south.
Also, when you truly do invest into a proper server. Consider the drives you are buying are gonna die one day. It may take years to happen but it will happen!
For syncing to multiple devices, I would recommend syncthing. Was pretty easy to set up and haven’t had any issues.
No rush, appreciate it.
Friend got a bsod today and was able to get more dumpfiles.
Used blue screen view and they all essentially are caused by ntoskrnl.exe
Alright, next time I talk with him I’ll look into it. Appreciate it.
Gotta consider users on windows download random programs and blindly follow an installation wizard.
I sold phones for several years. ALOT of people have no idea how to do even the first step of what you said. The process was always sell, transfer, wipe, and turn in. Transfer would require a passcode many times while going through the process, and customers would often tell you it to make the process easier. From young to old, they all need help doing that “easiest” thing.
Philip Defranco’s team asked…
“What are your thoughts on members of the community feeling this initial controversy wasn’t taken seriously due to jokes about store plugs, kicks to sponsores, and the video addressing the situation being monetized?”
And LMG responded…
“We’re LMG. Even when our content is serious, we have elements of fun in it. This has always been our style and we wanted to send a message to our community that just because the suits are talking about workflows and processes, the fun isn’t going away.”
I get what they were trying for, but it didn’t work out at all. This was the ONE time they should’ve been serious the entire video.
Whats the email? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Honestly, I’m ok with it. Piracy shouldn’t be something that anyone can see. More something people find after looking for it. Yes there is the con to having less users but the more users we have the more risk we take on.
Installing Windows is easy, but once something goes wrong, troubleshooting becomes more challenging. You have an error code? Yeah, well, try these 100+ things that are the same things you gotta try with every other error code out there. None of those things worked? Well, reinstall windows that should fix it.
Granted, I have plenty of experience with linux at this point to where I won’t stress when something fucks up but ive dealt with my fair share of windows issues as well. The majority of the time, I end up reinstalling windows…
Initially it was just using overseerr and letting everyone that use my server just request what they wanted. I would also just explore overseerr once in awhile to see whats new.
Now though, I have several lists configured in both radarr and sonarr that are made by mdblist that will add the latest popular films/shows. Due to this usually I can just check my server and I’ll already have either the show or the movie without doing anything.
Would be cool if there was some way to migrate the posts on reddit to lemmy just all together. My initial thought is to make the posts tied to the op while also filtering based on karma and overall interaction to skip over duplicates and spam. Just making it tied to the op is the part I have no clue on how itll work.
I just use Lidarr. Use to do spotify so I linked that onto lidarr and then let it do its thing.
Netflix through T-Mobile, Real-Debrid (plex), and Amazon Prime.
Only thing I actually use though is Real-Debrid. Got Plex truly automated so I just use that for everything including music.
Musk was considered the real life “iron man” due to all the futuristic projects he would start. I feel as if many were under the impression that he was this really smart guy working tirelessly to make all these insane ideas become a reality but the moment he stepped up and decided to buy twitter is when it all changed.
He announces to buy twitter, finds out twitter is bleeding out, decides not to buy twitter, to then realize he cant back out. Once he started taking the initiative to change twitter to make it more profitable is when everyone began to realize who musk really is.
I use to be one of those people interested in the next thing musk would do but now I rather not se another tweet from him.
Simple Answer: No
The moment you need to think about what distribution you need to choose from is where it’ll stop any (dumb)user. Most people want a simple process with very little thinking.
If you are interested in learning linux and willing to take the time to understand the entire process that comes with it then yes.
