That sounds ideal! The projector would be hard to set up for how my house is organized, but that’s the general idea I’m talking about.

Also, a little shy to admit this, but I’ve never had any luck sharing files through the home network. Dunno why, never cared much to look into it. You’d think the best way to get files onto a laptop connected to wifi from a desktop connected to ethernet would be to just share them over the router but it wasn’t that easy and I wasn’t that determined for a solution. Maybe I should look into that… it’s probably as simple as checking the right boxes somewhere.

$130 for a setup like that sounds pretty awesome. What kind of TV and sound system are you using? Are you mostly just watching locally stored media?

Not having a phone really sucks in this day and age. Imagine getting out of jail for something stupid like marijuana possession and then a parole violation due to a missed appointment. No one will hire you with your rap sheet. You live in a halfway house with a bunch of petty BS every day. And you can’t keep up with your parole demands because of how much your lack of a phone gets in your way. At the end of the day, there IS a way to succeed if you make the right choices, but shit, it’s just so much harder for some people to make the right choices when every day is crisis mode. And all because of WHAT?

Interesting! Never heard of Raspberry Pi before. Wow, these things are so cool. Just tiny computers? So you use a television for a display, and you use Raspi for a simple PC that connects to the TV via HDMI? And all you’ve got on the Raspi is something like Plex?

I feel you and I acknowledge that this DOES happen… but I work in post-incarcerial rehabilitation, and the people with minor charges or no charges are always better off than the people with felonies. Getting a job with a felony sucks. They do get jobs too though!

nah he’ll be fine. it’s the felonies that really get you. anything that would care about arrests without charges would respect the story. anything else is just looking for felonies
