Great news!
Yeah, looks like the default “word_wordnumbers” usernames that reddit gives you if don’t change them.
I wonder if that would be an easy way to detect botting by not filling in that field for them.
Now I’m imagining someone legitimately putting their Jan6 involvement on a resume.
Window Structural Integrity Tester (Jan 6th, 2021): Responsibilities included - unconventional team-building activities, conditioning, navigating unfamiliar territory, and breaking down barriers.
I actually named my Mastodon account that.
I like that my profile (on mobile at least) looks like he’s Riker maneuvering a Riker maneuver:
Yes, I believe so. I’ve only seen the TNG movies once, so my memory is a little fuzzy.
Thanks! Just trying to do my part to help the fediverse take off.
That’s awesome. I think there are so many out there who would be receptive to decentralized social media if they heard about it.
That argument could hold some water if they weren’t the ones writing the laws that keep us powerless to regulate these problems.
Oh, this is great!
And I had worried about it being a picture of text.
Gotcha, thanks. Disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world.
Oh it’s baked into Lemmy? I just figured the apps were summing up the counts on a user’s profile page.
It probably depends on federation. So, if there are any instances that mine is federated with and yours isn’t, you might not see it. Or if somehow nobody on your instance has gone to some communities somewhere for the first time to get them to sync.
Although I don’t think either of our instances have defederated from anything major that I can think of. I know sh.itjust.works and hexbear can’t see each other, but I don’t post on hexbear at all.
Oh wait! Even though you can see all my posts, you wouldn’t see all the upvotes from defederated instances. That discrepancy could be the difference between counting hexbear upvotes or not.
I’m on Android, but I hop between Boost (which shows it) and Voyager (which did until recently), finding myself on Voyager more often than not.
Super low priority request, since I have a workaround, but it would be cool to view it within Voyager.
Damn, I’ve been hoodwinked.
Ah, damn. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll delete.
