The only downside I have seen is that GSYNC will not work. The newer display supports it, put anyone upgrading an older Framework 16 with the new NVIDIA card will have to buy the screen upgrade as well if they need GSYNC.

Does anything here imply that the entire application was “vibe coded”? Or is it possible that a developer just used AI a few times to help with a line or two?
That is not going to stop Windows Recall from screenshotting the message once decrypted.
Does anyone have any go-to resources to help with scripting LibreOffice Calc? I do not need to convert Excel/VBA scripts for use with LibreOffice; I am fine writing things from scratch. But learning VBA at work was incredibly easy because I could just do a generic Internet search for what I want to do, and there would be a dozen different help posts and articles with detailed explanations and exact code to solve the problem with VBA. But on the LibreOffice Calc side, I cannot find much useful information, for either BASIC or Python.
Here is my cheatsheet that has been very helpful. Obviously, this will not teach you how RegEx works, but is a good quick reference when I forget the exact syntax for something.

How so? I have been getting much more comfortable with it lately, but I am curious what downsides there are

26·5 months agoI remember before the Steam Deck was released, and people were discussing all the potential capabilities of the upcoming device, it was often asked if this might be a feature. Of course, there were the usual “It’s a PC, so yes” answers, but the more accurate answers along the lines of “If it’s not, someone will make it work” are finally coming true now.

532·5 months agoHow would a web browser achieve that? The only thing I can think of is for the browser to choose what sort of web content should be filtered out and what should actually be displayed to the user, which I think we all agree is not what you would want your browser to choose.

Pronounced like “Erin”, it’s a name that we feel is more befitting of the project. Pulling from multiple etymologies, it’s a name that better describes the project now versus the project that started as Serpent OS.
“Aer” is rather obvious, Latin in origin. The phonetic “Erin” is a nod to the Irish roots of the project, and of course a home. There are a number of reasons for the name, which will form part of the initial documentation on the new website.
Our intent is to have a name that is more inviting, and more descriptive of the project’s goals and aspirations. We’re not anti-establishment or anti-corporation - if anything, we’re a statement that without the fiscal handcuffs, we can produce a technically sound and user-friendly operating system.

What does AerynOS mean and how do I pronounce it?
AerynOS is a stylised spelling of “Erin”, alluding to the project’s Irish roots. It is pronounced exactly the same as “Erin” - “AIR-in” OS. It’s also a play on “aer” and the phonetic “air” sound, indicative of our desire to produce an open, trusted and high-performance operating system.
It’s pronounced as “AIR-in” OS.

71·6 months agoIf I remember correctly, this type of study is inherently flawed because it just measures how long fluids stay in your body before you urinate, which is a useless metric. There is no benefit to a fluid staying in your system for a longer amount of time than the equivalent amount of a different fluid. Please correct me if I am wrong.
