There’s no point in blocking everything. I’m interested in what’s happening with Trump and the US, with Tesla, the occasional Linux news, but when my feed is 90% “Why Linux is actually good”, “Musk/Trump bad”, “Tesla shares in EU down again” for the fifth time, it gets annoying. Blocking stuff is too crude a tool.

I cringe at schools and businesses that previously banned shorts that decided allow it as part of the “uniform” because it got so hot outside.

It still has some of the same problems as the comic, though not to the same extent, it doesn’t need to be a standard for the comic to make sense, it’s also about market share. Having yet another browser has the potential of diluting the market and making people just go for the default.

This is my personal take. As long as you’re careful and thoughtful whenever using them, they can be extremely useful.

I mean, it shouldn’t be that expensive. Where I live basically every pizza and fast food place used to offer free delivery. Nowadays because of delivery services this has died out a bit, but it still exits, yet ordering through the delivery services is way more expensive.

I honestly don’t even get it, because for a long time the delivery services were operating at a loss, not even sure if most of them are in the plus even now, yet they should be more efficient than every fast food place having its own drivers.

This would get an immediate Custom -> 0% from me the moment I see it.

Haven’t tried any other similar product (except the pro version), but I have the Remarkable 2 and in my experience it’s pretty good as an e reader as well. Maybe expensive for just using it as an e-reader but you can also use it as a note taking device. It’s pretty big but still really thin and light, so it’s a pretty good reading experience especially if you have bigger hands, some people may find it too big as an e-reader tho, but I really like the size.

One recommendation I can make is that if you are interested in it, if you have the money consider the pro version. If notetaking matters to you, the little I experienced writing on the pro version was so much better. The pen is much better as well as the tracking. My version tends to be off by about a millimeter at some places and the edges. This becomes extremely frustrating when you’re trying to e.g. dot the i-s and you keep missing where you want to write. From what I saw, the pro version is much better at this and is in colour.

My personal experience has been frustrating each time. I’ve tried to switch over at least 3 times over the years, but I always gave up. This time, I installed Ubuntu and immediately had to spend 3 hours trying to get my Xbox controler dongle to work, but just couldn’t do it. Found a driver online that people said would work, it didn’t because it wasn’t properly signed, tried to sign it but the signing app just didn’t create the certificates needed. Gave up, I have Bluetooth so I’d live, though I’d rather use the dongle if I can.

I then immediately encounter another problem that couldn’t be fixed (for the life of me I can’t remember what it was exactly) and just gave up.

The previous time I tried it I remember that among other things, one of my main problems was the lack of clipboard history (which I use extremely often). I tried installing an app for it but all of them either didn’t work or didn’t work the way I want them to or I just didn’t like their look and feel.

I also hate the font rendering on Linux, it always looks blurry compared to Windows, and the double titlebars most apps have (e.g. Discord, at least on Ubuntu), I like my screen real-estate.

Look at it in another way, people think this is the start of an actual AI revolution, as in full blown AGI or close to it or something very capable at least. Personally I don’t think we’re anywhere near something like that with the current technology, I think it’s a dead end, but if there’s even a small possibility of it being true, you want to invest early because the returns will be insane if it pans out. Full blown AGI would revolutionize everything, it would probably be the next industrial revolution after the internet.

I mean, they are right. Asside the question of whether we can even make meaningfully better models by just using LLMs and more data and what the future of AI will look like, and whether it’s ethical or not to steal the data, it is quite possible that OpenAI and the like will get into legal trouble because of the methods they use for acquiring data, but Chinese companies won’t have to worry about that. If more data = better models then China has an obvious advantage.

Wait how does that work? I thought Bitwarden couldn’t access your passwords, how could they grant a third party access to your passwords without your master password?

If they’re following the standard, which they often do but sometimes don’t, white indicates 2.0 and blue indicates 3.0+. I think there are more but I don’t remember the other colours.

For me this is fighting over semantics. It doesn’t really matter if it’s legally piracy or not since nobody is gonna go after you for it either way. It’s about whether what you’re doing is moral or the intended way. You can use adblocker, but then you’re just freeloading. Fact of the matter is that nothing is free and everything needs compensation when at scale. You can rightfully claim that YouTube shoves too many ads and that it’s a monopoly so it abuses it’s position, but at the end of the day you’re using the service without compensating for it, so you’re stealing at least something.

I have power toys insalled and I love it for a lot of its features, but I never got used to using the run menu.

I mean, you can change your passwords later on if you think a quantum computer broke them. In the case of quantum computers your network traffic is also gonna get cracked anyways, so they can steal your account information through that as well.

Interesting design but I’ve literally never used the start menu for the past 5 years I think. I only ever press the windows key and then type the name of the app I need.
