Don’t be coy, tell us what you think we should be using it for.
I think more broadly, it happens whenever there is the mentality of “more X, no matter what”. Usually that’s profit, but I don’t think it’s mandatory.
If they don’t already, they will. The insatiable desire for profit means that even if you paid them $1000 a month for their dogshit rag, they’d sell your data to make $1001 dollars.
Regulations are the only answer and they have to be both enforced and punished heavily enough to not make it worth risking.
The best way to encourage adoption is to be miserable as fuck about every topic and event.
The software in the screenshot doesn’t require you to use Discord, but that’s not good enough there.
Why stop there? Do the open source apps you’re advocating run on Windows or Nvidia drivers? You could get upset about them too, because they’re also one step removed from something closed source.
Then it sounds like all that’s left to do is get 150 million people to use them.
The very first prompt this AGI is given will be “secure as much wealth as possible without breaking any laws that might see us punished”.
That’s not what the CEO of the company thought.
They don’t care about ill will, they care about money. They made nothing from third party apps and millions from gutting the API and selling it to AI companies.
Whatever happened to “you do you, I do me”?
Literally the sentence before that one was you being critical of pride parades, so I guess you mean “You do you (but only with my rubber stamp of approval)”
You’re really bad at staying mask on.
Sure. “It happened to a friend”.
Damn, that’s some horrific reading comprehension if you think its “the entire topic of discussion”. If someone says to you “I’m having so much trouble with cost of living. I can barely afford rent and food and I’m two payments behind on my car”, would you say you’re having a conversation about cars?
Clearly you’re comfortable saying “yes” if you really want everyone to hear your opinions about cars.
How do you know all bears are dangerous? Maybe there’s one that just wants to be friends? You should politely treat all bears as friendly so that you don’t hurt that bears feelings.
This situation doesn’t exist outside your imagination.
They’re probably slaves shipped out from Gitmo to cover all those mass graves with tacky golden statues.
