Agreed! It blocks ads and malware while costing advertisers a ton. I’d love to see this go more mainstream and see all the panic by costing advertisers money without having people buy anything.

I always go for low hanging fruit when troubleshooting. You initially said you rebooted a VM, then said your bare metal wasn’t up. I’m assuming you can’t ping your server. Maybe the VPN service didn’t start like you expected. If you have no mechanism to SSH, or otherwise connect to your server you’re not going to have a lot of options.

I use genius scan as well. Never paid for it. I can scan in bulk and export as a pdf.

If you have other use cases, this might not be the best. But there’s a lot more paid features.

Not a piracy answer, but email the author(s). Most are excited that someone is taking interest in their work and will gladly send you the paper.
