Cromite, it’s basically Vanadium for non GrapheneOS devices
F*ck Britannia, Britannia don’t rule our lives. We never shall be slaves. God save encryption.
I would consider anything other than GrapheneOS a scam or even a honeypot at this point. Braxman is a complete utter joke, this crap is no different than that MAGA guy selling his freedom phone or whatever it was called.
What if you pay for ESU?
I still burn discs every now and then. Definitely glad to see I don’t have to panic buy stockpiles of them now.
Encrypt everything. Show these fascist politicians and their laws the middle finger.
Unless they open source their models, they should be forced to rename to ClosedAI. It’s literally false advertising otherwise.
Good riddance. Stop using Nazi platforms and join the fediverse instead.
People online were making fun at my old PC still running an FX 8350. That one was released before all this. Who’s laughing now? I’m only partially kidding lol.
No thanks
Don’t use Calyx: https://eylenburg.github.io/android_comparison.htm
Ask the GrapheneOS Discord/Matrix. They’ll tell you the exact same thing.
The fact is there’s no privacy without security and the Librem doesn’t have the latter.
The sensor is built into the display.
I feel like a broken record at this point, but putting LineageOS on it still doesn’t fix the issue of no driver and firmware updates and you sacrifice secure boot, which makes the whole thing not worth it imo.
At least go for DivestOS which does support secure boot whenever possible. Even then, there’s no making an end of life phone secure. You can only do harm reduction.
Don’t use Lineage. It doesn’t even have secure boot. DivestOS would be a better option but keep in mind, there’s no making an end of life phone secure. All you can do is mitigate, like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.
Tldr save up for a new phone and use DivestOS in the meantime for harm reduction only.
I won’t stop you from using the Librem but at the end of the day a false sense of security is more damaging than anything else. I can with 100% certainty assure you that even your average Samsung phone has better security than the Librem. A phone with absolute abbysmal and ancient hardware that Purism sells for 10-20 times the cost of an equivalently powerful Android phone from AliExpress. Heck, even the PinePhone (which also runs Linux) sells for like $200 and has better hardware. Purism is a scam company. I know you don’t want to hear this but it’s the truth.
You set up the fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 8 like any other Android phone. Either during first setup or by going into your security settings.
In the case of LineageOS which doesn’t even support secure boot, I’d argue no. You may have a look at DivestOS though. Keep in mind no matter what you do, there’s no making an end of life device secure. You can only do harm reduction. Basically putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.
That’s not a real solution since you’ll still miss out on driver and firmware updates. Worst of all, installing Lineage gets rid of secure boot. Which needless to say, isn’t secure.
It will still be sold at a fraction of what Apple charges for their far inferior SSDs.
