11·3 days agoI wouldn’t care if 1% of the population watched it. The truth is that enough of the population watches it that it is a useful tool to track and dox the population. People in power don’t care who you fuck or don’t fuck, they care how they can use who you fuck against you.

67·7 days agoRemember when a certain company just paid a large fine for pirating information to train AI?
So step 1 should be to remove Internet access to Meta, if you aren’t going to do that, then it is 100% corrupt.

3·10 days agoClasses like Calc 2,3, Thermo/fluid dynamics, chem classes etc never had required homework for me, just suggested. The only classes with required homework were engineering projects building something physical or programs I had to submit in C or what not. I suppose I had a writing course that required I turned in essays, but I don’t know how you’d get around that.

30·11 days agoYeah, to me it’s muddy waters. While some people look down on it, if an adult posts something that says free Saturday night, hit me up for a price… That’s not anywhere near trafficking. But it is very much solicitation.
So you think with no professional use people will train to use them when if you got hired by a company they won’t use them? It seems like a scare to me. I’m not an apple user, but yikes
My wonders are around how this will effect the video software market in say 10 years. In 2010 if you said you wanted to get into video editing I would have said I dnt know much but people swear by professional tools developes for Mac os x.
If Mac Pros go aways, professional software wouldn’t be used by big industry, but rather just hobbyists… Which to me seems like the death of video editing long term on Mac.

11·20 days agoLet’s be honest though, even if she had acted normal but now opposed him, he’d still act indecent and she’d get threats.
I’ll never agree with Pence’s views, but overall we can say he acted “decent” (while be a fn wanker) and we saw where that got him. Still wish we could have seen him forced to testify about what information came to his knowledge for the fake electors.

7·20 days agoYeah, I live more in the realm of having emptied my 401k twice after leaving different jobs because the only other option was homelessness. Have I made bad decisions in life, never intentionally… but owning a home is being taken off the possibilities for me. At 36 it’ll be years before I ever have 1000s in the bank, let alone the 20% of 400,000 or whatever a small house will cost in future. Shit they turned me down to get a car loan and buy a used Kia which left me with a broken down vehicle and losing my job because I couldn’t transit 104 miles a day to the decent paying job I landed. So now I’m getting paid 1/3 to half of it on a job I found I can work from home. I’ll make rent and food, but retirement is likely out of the picture.
While I understand what you mean, not putting the LLM’s out there any longer and losing money while doing the research and development would be cheaper… So it doesn’t fit.
Edit Like I guess my point is shitting on LLM’s saying they arent AI, and investing/ asking for investment for a real AI would be far less losses. Most of these companies know an llm won’t be AI, probably all of them
Are many of them really trying for actual artificial intelligence? I don’t follow AI research. I just see the shoving of LLM’s into everything and giving people the ability to make their own cat pictures

22·27 days agoWas this your word choice for trying to get people to work together? Demeaning someone for demeaning someone while demanding they work together might not be the best route either. But I agree we need to find ways to build bridges or else we will never be able to make things better. As for deporting people though, there are some harsh actions that may be needed. I’m not saying it is the best route but the next president arresting supreme Court judges for taking bribes, executing them for treason without due process could cause chaos. It could also help pass legislation that makes the president not immune to illegal acts as the supreme Court ruled. It would force the legislature to make abuse of powers and more restrictions on the executive branch which to be honest, needs to have its powers shrunk drastically. The point of a Republic is for the peoples representatives to be empowered to write legislation that helps advance/give opportunities to as many people as possible supposedly “equally”, or at least fairly. But our executive branch having the ability to make executive orders completely undercuts all of that. If we don’t do away with executive orders I think if an executive order is issued it should run side by side with an impeachment. Where then they are voted on by Congress and if half of Congress votes no confidence that it was completely necessary for the safety of the nation, the President is immediately removed. (Different rules than impeachment/removal) obviously
Aka, if there is an attack or something, they can make an executive order to respond before waiting for congress, but if congress feels it was misused, they are gone. No one should care who the president is, they should be a police officer in my mind. What they arrest someone for shouldn’t be their choice, nor any punishment be their choice. If you are found to fake evidence it should also be viewed as treason. Which would make any party fight to do away with capital punishment pretty quick, because they won’t want 7 members of their party getting the electric chair when they get caught up in lying to the public, like they do daily.

9·1 month agoYeah, they had to change things, the person was hit by a human driver and flung in the self driving cars path and the human driver drove off. The self driving car didn’t know what to do and dragged the body to the side of the road basically. None of these incidents took place by a Waymo vehicle though. Waymo has had to shoulder the shit that Tesla and other companies have put out. GM as you said making that “mistake”.
