I get your point, but what would be an alternative term for content or creators in general? One that encompasses all types of media. Maybe “artists” and “art”, but that doesn’t always fit, I guess


This reminds me of a deleted scene from The Incredibles (2004) in which Helen confronts a party guest who said that it’s a waste of potential if you spend years caring for your children instead of working. Sadly I couldn’t find an online clip of that scene.
I generally agree, but those terms you prefer are specific about the type of media. I think “creator” is the most neutral and general term, but it has been somewhat tarnished by commercialized platforms like YouTube.
I usually avoid corporate stuff, but not always. What term do you prefer over “creator”?
I think the next tier would be to only pirate media that is licensed by huge corporations and still buy indie media to support creators
