I have had reasonable experiences with startpage as a search engine.
On the scale of who is fucking up the world more, I’d have to award the trophy to Leon. Certainly fuck Nestle, but won’t someone please rid us of this meddlesome billionaire?
Regarding Applist, does this copy the app’s data?
I have a game on a phone I’d like to copy to a tablet so progress is not lost. App is in both devices already. Would that work?
Sorry for piggybacking on OP.
Yes, the activity was what I thought of. Thank you for helping to educate me!
That is interesting. Thanks to you and the others.
Does the use of the google play services allow google to sort of…listen in or be privy to your app usage in any way?
Please forgive if this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between the play store version and this? Assuming it is not altered by a bad actor.
Yes, I noticed that. It was the only donation link I spotted though. You could ask the admins that are listed in the right-side panel (TheDude, etc).
For yours, there is a heart outline up at the top of the page which leads to:
Well, that rule has been mostly tongue in cheek as you are probably aware, but perhaps Usenet will once again become useful to more folks. I have never veered away from it since I discovered it in the late 90’s. I suppose that makes me a part of the ES group? I’m quite glad to have discovered it. You do now have to pay to use it, but the cost is mild and the tools are all modernized with plenty of web front-ends out there.
Edited: Booboos
What’s the first rule of Usenet? 😬
I want my Harrier!
That or Startpage
I agree! Solving tech issues leads to searching the net and all too often the results are a video about the solution when text is all you need. Watching a video just to see what they type is very mildlyinfuriating.
Don’t forget the toxic Manosphere out there in the genpop. Many young men are drawn into the Rogan-type bs.
Looks like a mosfet got broken. I am no electro-ologist, but it is probably going to have weird voltages wherever that mosfet serves. Might be okay for a while or maybe not.
If I wanted to save the board, I’d order a replacement from Digikey or elsewhere. Just ID one next to it and order it up. Have a finer tip on the soldering iron and Bob’s your uncle!
Wait until you meet an emacs user! ;p
Do you have to wear the fedora to run this command?
What motherboard? What cpu did you have? Is this new Ryzen 5600 on the hardware list for the motherboard? If so, are there any voltage, stepping or other settings (listed in the manual) required to make it run stably?
Make sure the new cpu is clean with no potential shorts from anything. Also ensure good heatsink contact. If you’ve done all the normal and necessary steps then yes it might be a bad cpu, but they aren’t frequent failure items in my experience. Disagreeable conditions for the cpu is more commonly the culprit. Engineering sample cpus are the most fickle, but even some normal batch cpus might sometimes require a bit more (or less) juice or a system tweak.
