Fair point, the heat here is more tolerable by a lake or the sea too.
I live by the sea but can’t spend all day there.

UK train prices are terrible, it’s cheaper to fly to Germany, drink as much as you can, throw up all over your hotel room and then fly to Scotland the next day than it is to take a train from southern England to Scotland.

How do planes compare to travel by boat? Then what about a car ferry if you go on as a foot passenger or only take a bike, are you really taking up any space on it?

Hearing so many people in the UK say they want to go somewhere hot like Spain for summer. Its too fucking hot here! Why do you want to go somewhere worse! I would want to go to Finland.

At this point I’ll gladly bake oat bannocks over the burning ruins of the US economy to survive.

Where I live its always luxuries that people steal, like fancy wines. If someone is stealing bread or vegetables that is actual food.
What is the endgame if we just let everyone steal everything? A lot of theft here is done by gangs to resell for profit and I am absolutely not OK with encouraging that kind of behaviour.

“Food pricing” is usually an average. Meat has gone up a lot but veg remains very cheap. While I am not fully vegan I also don’t see why anyone needs to eat meat.
If I was under the poverty line again I could go back to feeding myself for under £25/month and it would still be a fairly healthy diet. Housing costs so much more, even renting just a bedroom is like £500+ per month now.

Yeah quite a few people do that here, no interest in touching it myself. There is a huge supply of second hand phones though.

Well I live in the UK so we got that already

I agree with that. But stealing luxury products? That isn’t necessary to survive.

I would rather not live in a society full of rampant theft.

UK has both, and yet shoplifting is still rising.

I find its usually the better food that they are stealing. I don’t think wine is an essential product.

Look at UK supermarket prices to see what happens when they are trying to compete on prices.
I could fill an entire sack with carrots and potatoes for less than the cost of a single pint at a pub.

Yeah I am sure they really need that £40 jar of honey, bottle of fancy wine and the finest steaks…
I don’t see people stealing potatoes, but I see quite a few stealing the expensive stuff.

Probably just defeating reduced sales. Its not for you, it is to benefit them.

I’ll absolutely never touch that shit, but I am kinda curious what the pricing will look like.
How long does it take for buying to be cheaper than renting. How long before you are expected to get a new one - this is actually quite a big one, could it encourage more buying new laptops and so also improve the second hand market? Better and cheaper second hand laptops could be sweet.

Should show high/low tides… Here we have a few islands at high tides and you can walk to them at low tide.

Are there any examples of that here?
Oats, enough water to form a dough. Maybe some salt.
Tempted to try using an oat sourdough starter though.
